Our History

1946 - Articles of Incorporation are filed for The Deer Flat Fire Protective Association, Inc.
1953 - Meeting takes place at Scism School to vote and establish the taxing district in the state of Idaho and create Upper Deer Flat Fire Protection District
1953 - County Assessor identifies the taxing district value at $616,000
1953 - Front station is built to house original apparatus and Upper Deer Flat Volunteer Fire Department is formed.
1967 - Meeting room is built
1975 - New pumper is purchased
1976 - New tanker is purchased
1996 - City of Nampa donates fire pumper and new bay is built
2011 - Land where station resides is purchased and new building is built

How many calls does the District have annually?

UDF went on 58 call in 2023. Those calls included:

Do I need to get a burn permit?

No. Burn permits are not required. However, we do request, you contact the Canyon County non-emergency and let them know (208-454-7531).

Burning is not permitted on poor-air quality (anything beyond yellow quality). For current air quality, check here.

Is UDF the same department as Nampa Fire?

No. UDF is a separate entity and fire district than Nampa Fire. While UDF and Nampa Fire work collaboratively and have many partnerships, they operate a two distinct agencies.
